Duration: 12 months

One-year internship at Siemens Corporate Research working on image processing algorithms and especially registration algorithms.
The main goal of this internship was to come up with GPU optimizations for intensity-based registration. I have developed optimizations for the computation of SSD (Sum of Squared Differences) and MI (Mutual Information) metrics using the latest features of the GPU chipset (Frame Buffer Objects, Geometry shader, ...). To achieve this work, I used the C++ and Cg languages as well as the OpenGL framework.
I was given the opportunity to publish the work I have done in a paper "New GPU Optimizations for Intensity-based Registration." I have presented during the SPIE Medical Imaging Conference (Orlando, Florida, USA) in February 2009.
During this year, I also had other tasks such as the development of GUIs in Qt / C++, the development of code-generation tools in Ruby and the ability to re-structurate / re-design the existing registration framework.

Language(s): C, C++, Java, Shell Script, Ruby
Teacher at EPITA for third year students within a team of 30 members.
Teaching different languages such as C++, C, Java, Shell Script, Ruby, ... and Unix System fundamentals.
I was also working with the Research and Development Laboratory of Epita (LRDE) as maintainer of the Tiger Compiler project.

Duration: 4 months
Language(s): C++
Four-month internship in the Research and Development service. During this period, I mainly had to work on two different projects.
The first one was the development of an URBI (Universal Real-time Behavior Interface: the company's language) interface for Counter Strike in C++. I then had to use this interface to develop bots (artificial intelligence) in URBI.
The second project was the development of an universal remote application for URBI servers written in C++ and using the Qt framework.
